Sheringham Close is a sheltered scheme with a 24 hour lifeline system in place. It is located on the outskirts of St Helens town centre, close to the Fingerpost shopping area which has a wide range of amenities including; a local butchers, greengrocers, a post office and bank.

Accommodation

We have 39 properties, 2 of these are disabled bungalows. The accommodation type is ground floor and second floor flats. 2nd floor flats have the added security of intercom access . Each property has its own lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The flats also have central heating and double glazing, with a patio door fitted in the lounge of each property

Community areas

We have a communal lounge where tenants can gather to meet and on Wednesday's a lunch is provided and breakfast is provided on a Saturday.
We have gardens all around the scheme, which are maintained to a high standard by our contracted gardner. We have benches if residents wish to sit outside.

Social Activities

Sheringham close has a lively friendly atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to make friends, whilst respecting privacy and choice. We do have regular activities in place including; a luncheon club, quizes, prize bingo and outings - all of which are tenant led with the Scheme manager supporting.

Services

Regular callers include: greengrocer, chiropodist, hairdresser and mobile library. Other service benefits include; fire awareness and safety in the home which is arranged by the scheme manager, there is also a regular monthly newsletter to keep residents up to date.

Support

There are trained agencies that visit the scheme and provide care, cleaning services to the people who need them, and all properties have emergency pull cords that provide 24 hour cover. All services can be arranged through social services via the scheme manager.
