Examples of Involvement
We give the people we support a real say in the services they receive. We ask for feedback at every level of the organisation, at regular meetings of staff and residents in; projects, foyers, centres and general needs accommodation. This information is then fed back to SAHA and changes can be made wherever possible to ensure residents are receiving the appropriate level of service. Here are just a few examples of how SAHA's residents are involved:
Surveys
- Customer Panel members have been involved in helping to review SAHA’s complaints procedure and changes they suggested have now been made to the complaints process.
- Residents' regularly monitor our performance, by carrying out a ‘Mystery Shop’ on different service areas, as a results improvements and changes have been made within the Customer Service Centre.
- The methods of Resident Involvement have been reviewed and updated and we are now implementing new and innovative ways for residents' to get involved.
- SAHA have offered extra support for those residents who requested help with managing their money, following a recent 'money management' survey.
Interviewing New SAHA Staff
We provide training and support to enable our residents to assist us in recruiting staff at all levels to work for SAHA. This has benefits as it allows SAHA to recruit the right staff and at the same time, provides residents' with the opportunity to gain valuable interview experience.
Small steps, big changes...
Working groups were used to decide on a design and layout for the new SAHA Website. A series of meetings were held where residents from the Lawson Street Project, Preston, made suggestions about how the new website should look and what information should be available to residents.
Residents were also consulted face-to-face, to decide on a new design for the residents newsletter – the SAHA News! The final design and colour scheme was all down to residents choice.
Look out for more examples of resident involvement at SAHA which will be posted here soon.
